What People are Saying

Introduction

Catalyst4 has helped me understand that I am not defined by my past – that I can prove myself. This experience has shown me that Catalyst4 and others believe in me, and in my ability to make a fresh start.

We hear statements like this from Catalyst4 trainees a lot – and we’re always glad to hear more from trainees, and from others in the community, about how we’re doing in carrying out our Mission and Vision.

We’re honored that the Lehigh Valley Military Affairs Council (LVMAC) describes Catalyst4 as “an innovative initiative,” saying it’s a great example of bringing together all sorts of existing organizations in “holistic collaborations [to solve] profound societal issues.” (Read more at the LVMAC website.)

Testimonials

Overall, we think our trainees say it best. At the conclusion of our month-long sessions, we ask for feedback from our Catalyst4 trainees about their experiences and what they gained from the program. See what they’ve had to say, in their own words:

  • Have your aspirations/dreams changed since you began the class?

Yes, its helped me to think on a bigger scale of what I want to do in my life and realize a lot is possible with the right help.

Yes, looking for ways to improve my life. Quit dwelling on the past.

Yes, I want to be a drug counselor.

My aspirations and dreams have grown and gotten stronger and clearer.

  • What Impact Has the Class Had on You

It really brought to light opportunities for making things possible. I was at a crossroads in my life coming into this class where I was broken, ready to give up. This class literally brought me hope and hopes of a bright future.

This class has had the most positive impact on me.

I now have the desire to finish what I have started.

Helped me to understand how important it is to take action in my life and how I can change my situation no matter how bad things are around me.

The class has shown me that my goals ARE obtainable and that there are people out there willing to help if I’m willing to ask for help.

  • What was the best part of the class?

The amount of knowledge and time the teachers devote to each individual student is *HUGE* (and the lunch and coffee is a huge perk, too).

Non-judgmental and interested in our progression in life itself.

Having such good caring people teaching and being there for us. Also being around people that really want to help.

Getting to know my peers and getting to connect with each other though our stories and experiences.

The book. The volunteers. All the resources.

The math really brought me back to a place where I challenged myself and the information I received from the speakers.

Meeting the people who are there to help and inspire “lost souls” and show what is within reach.

The financial part of the class was very beneficial to me and how I can get out of debt and make my money grow by saving and investing.
